Project Overview

Our team was contracted to design, supply and install the natural gas burner and ignition system for the Richmond, British Columbia Oval Figure Skating Facility’s Olympic Cauldron.

Included in our scope was the gas rough-in work including connection of 300 feet of new gas piping from the main boiler in the underground parkade up and through the plaza grade outside.

We assembled the team and worked diligently with ‘A’ and ‘B’ gas fitters and the base building Mechanical Engineer. We also worked with Technical Safety Inspectors and CSA in research and development and testing and to plan for a safe fire feature to meet NFPA standards for exhibiting Flame Effects Before an Audience.
